I have loved photography since discovering the world through a lens as a teenager in a bullfighting arena in Madrid. I couldn't stand to watch the unequal fight but found that I was able to discover artistry through the camera as well as convey a story that I felt was important. Now, as I work as an archaeologist in China, I find the photographic medium to be an excellent way to not only document rapid social and cultural changes, but also to think through some of the more theoretical or abstract aspects of my work.
